Grams

So a couple of days ago my Mom called and said, "hey is it okay if I come to your house?" I quickly shouted YES before she could even finish her sentence! So Grammie is here and the kids are in heaven, so this is my excuse for no blogging. We are having so much fun! I will get back to it in a bit.

Quarantined in one day

Friday came with a vengeance.
Thursday I called the Dr. to get some advice about what the heck was going on with my daughter. She had broke out in some sort of rash and it was spreading. She was acting fine and they said not to worry about it if she didn't have a fever and wasn't acting abnormally, okay no signs of either. Then the night was horrible with both crying, and a fever and by morning it was on her face, hands and feet. Friday morning I took Brax to preschool and then I babysat a sweet little boy around Joz's age during preschool, while his Mom was assisting. I had made a doctors appointment for after Brax was done. They tell me to come in the side secret door, and ring the bell. Then take me into sterile (essentially plastic covered) room. We are avoided like the plague, I swear. As it turns out she had broken out in HIVES, but it was so severe that it classified as a virus. I have gone over and over in my mind if she had any different food, or exposure to anything and nothing comes to mind. Anyway, they gave her some prescriptions and we were on our way. And she is doing much better now!
Not an hour later I get a phone call from a VIP staff member at the dental school explaining to me that she had Brett in her office and is afraid to let him drive home. I am like what...okay I will be right there. So it turns out that he had pretty much passed out and was feeling very ill. By the time I got there, he had been taken to the health clinic. I entered there and was told not to bring my kids in because there were many patients with H1N1, swine flu. So here I am trying to see my husband, but can't because they won't let me go back with my kids, hmmmmmm? Luckily our good friend, a fellow dental student, said he would watch them for a second. I finally get to Brett and he had a mask on, as they suspect he too has the swine flu! As it turns out he did have the flu, but it had run it's course and now he has an infection, so after taking my patients home and getting Brett's prescriptions now, everyone was resting and recovering. So what a day! Glad it is over!
But wait while this was happening in our family, Brett's Dad was in the hospital having a pacemaker put in, after the surgery was complete and he was resting one of his wires came out, so they had to redo the surgery! Everything went well after that and he is now home resting and recovering as well! We love you!
We are so very blessed even when we face these small trials, it can only make us stronger!

Recalling the week

We had quite the week at our home this past week! To begin Monday Brax started school, which he did pretty well with. He had a small breakdown at the beginning, but soon adjusted and was happy! Another story for Mom as I left my little boy, tears streaming down my face, overcome with emotion. Jozalyn as well was missing her brother and it was a happy reunion for all when we picked him up! He goes three days for 2 hours and 15 minutes. While he is doing that I get a chance to remember how easy it was having one child! Joz and I went to story time and grocery shopping! Pretty soon she will start her classes too!
Then Thursday came quickly for Brett. He started to get sick on Wednesday (in addition to allergies) and got plenty of rest that night to try and feel better for a big morning. Thursday morning he set off the take his National Dental Boards Part II. He was miserable! Wouldn't you know that sickness would come on this day of all days. The test is the second written one, then he has a final clinical portion left to take. The test was from 9-5 all day long. He came home and crashed, only to wake up for another half day of the test on Friday. Thursday night Brax started, "Kung fu," class (as he calls it), he was such a stud. He is by far the youngest in the class, but that didn't stop him. He did great!
Throughout the week we had some great playdates and other events.
Saturday was the game which we spanked EMU, GO BLUE!
Then we had a family bike ride and picnic. I love to go on little family adventures, there is nothing like it! That night we went to the movies, and that was great. Then come Sunday the kids got Brett's sickness, as did I. So we were not able to go to church.
So now this will be another interesting week, and it already started today, with a busy morning full of appointments and preschool responsibilities. Hopefully kids and I will get feeling better!
Mom and baby are doing wonderfully! When I went to the Dr. couple weeks ago they couldn't find the heartbeat, which is always nerve racking, but lucky for me I got to have an ultrasound and our little one was doing all sorts of summer salts and kicking like crazy!
Life is good, fantastic dare I say!

Camping adventures

Myself and my family had a great time as we always do going to Redfish Lake. Kids love to stay up late and roast marshmellows and go on adventures. We saw lots of deer, which Brax loves, he even spotted some all by himself, he has eagle eyes! Heres is Brett's new little friend on his shoudler. This little guy came to our camp and was fearless, climbing all over anyone who even smelled like they might have any food for the winter!

Zoozy zoo

When we are in I.F. we always go to the zoo. It is such a fun little one. We got to go with Brett's sister Nic and her hubby Christian. Our kids love them, so it was great to be able to spend time with them!

Matchie, Matchie, mostly for you Cathy!

Here are some pictures of the cutest matching outfits ever made! My mother-in-law is amazing, she made these with one good hand, and one hand with 17 stitches in it! Thank you, thank you, thank you! My bro had a Hawaiian themed wedding and the colors were pink and brown, so I was in a pickle trying to find matching outfits when I found this fabric online and called Cathy to beg. Luckily she just whipped these out in no time, you are the bomb! Will post wedding pics.

SAUCY news

While I do enjoy spaghetti sauce, it is just the brand I like the best in this case! YIPPEE FOR BABY NUMBER 3! We are expecting our little bundle of joy at the beginning of March. We are very excited! I have been very ill, but luckily for the worst of it we were in Idaho, so I had tons of help! Big thank you to my parents, to my wonderful husband and my fantastic kids!
