Hurray for Independence day!

This is one of my favorite holidays. There is just something about the pride you feel for your country. I especially feel it because of my wonderful husband who has served this great land for many years. Both of my late grandfathers also are veterans. I of course love the parades and the fireworks. We went to a parade this morning and have been doing fireworks for a couple weeks now (Brax's favorite thing as of late). I also love it because it is exactly a week from my birthday and I got the greatest gift this year, a little early. The kids and I were playing in the backyard on Thursday when Brett went in the house for something and then the back fence gate opens and there are MY PARENTS! It was a total surprise and a shock, I had to take a moment (okay lots of moments) to take it all in and catch my breath. Brax was super cute when he saw them in total amazement and complete confusion. Anyway, so I get them both until Sunday and my Mom for a whole week! I am so excited!!!! They got me good.

QT's and our week ahead

We have really been enjoying the summer. Brett has been working hard and we have been playing hard. We have a big week coming up, as Brett has it off. Hopefully we will finish our bathroom tomorrow and kids and I have a playdate in the morning and a party in the afternoon. Then Tuesday its off to the lake and usual Volleyball practice that night. Wednesday Brett has to go to Dayton for an interview at Wright Patterson AFB, then it is firework time that night. Thursday I have a big interview and then Friday we can relax, maybe? But that night we are going to NO DOUBT at the palace okay I am totally stoked for that! Saturday is the parade and BBQ's galour!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

I feel so immensely blessed to not only have the best Dad ever, but to also have the best Father to my children! Brax was super cute as we had gone shopping for Brett's gift last week and I had kept telling him be on the look out for something you can give Daddy and then he saw it! He ran and grabbed it and simply put it in the cart and it was....(among the other gifts)

He wanted to get it because he is SuperDaddy and now Daddy can be superman with me, but I am the real one he can be the other superman, he says. Anyway, Brett was pretty touched and they were Supermen all day yesterday! So thank you Brett for being SuperDad!
Now to my Dad who is the most giving, wise, selfless, awesome guy! He has put up with me for this long, he deserves a shout out at least, ha! He really is wonderful and I have learned so much from him. He is also a stellar Grandpa! So thanks Dad sure do love ya!

A must see

The proposal is the best movie I have seen in a long time. I totally loved this movie and although it is probably lame to blog about it...it is saying something about the sheer awesomeness of it! I love Ryan Reynolds and have always been a fan of Sandra B. As a matter of fact I have been asked for my autograph several times from only crazy people, but still, because they think I am her. I cannot see the resemblance, but maybe some do. Anyway they are both great in it and I laughed out loud in the theater...and so did Brett! The only part he didn't like is the fact that I keep saying, "I love him(Ryan)." So go see it!

OOgway

Well some unfortunate news in the Hulet household and that is our turtle, Oog, is M.I.A. Brett was cleaning the tank and put Oogway out in the grass to walk around, as we always do. This time he was there one second and gone the next. So we spent awhile looking around the yard for him, thinking he couldn't have gone far since we are fenced in, but no he definitely went somewhere to never be found again. We kept thinking he would come out in the sun or something, but no luck. Anyway, so now is the perfect opportunity to teach Brax about these kind of things. He is pretty bummed, but has gotten over it pretty quickly. He keeps saying we have to go get a new Oogway, which probably isn't going to happen. Joz just looks in the tank and says, with her hands up in the air, "all gone." Brett is sad, but on the bright side I get my coffee table back and it is one less thing to worry about. Now we just have to think about what to do with all of these feeder fish in cups on my counter, hum.
